Saturday Morning News

Here are the articles that caught my eye this week, in the areas of health for your:

Very interesting historical information here on the seven-day week and societies that have tried other arrangements.  I felt this article could go in either the Spirit or Soul category: Spirit because it's regarding the 10 Commandments and Soul because the Sabbath was meant to give you rest.

This is has been making the rounds and bringing criticism, but I think it's a message people need to hear.  People need to realize that choosing to stay at home and raise children is a high calling, it's not easy, and it's not always fun.

This article explores how anti-bullying programs are actually having a negative effect.  I have heard about this with drug and alcohol programs as well.  We say, "Just say no to drugs!" to our kids, but the kids hear a meta-message that we think all kids are trying drugs and alcohol, so they might as well.

It's almost that time!  Click this link to be inspired to make some real food Halloween treats this year.  My kids do go trick-or-treating, so will be bringing home candy, but I'm seriously considering offering to buy it from them afterwards.

How To Find The Best Natural Mascara That Actually Works
What kind of chemicals are lurking in your mascara?  Read what Food Babe has to say about it.  And I might add that Honeybee Gardens makes a truly natural mascara and it goes on nicely; I've used it.

Why I Won't Get a Mammogram
Again, being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I want you to be aware of the truth.  I'm 38 and have never had a mammogram--and I don't plan to.  Did you read my story about the lump I found?  If I need to have it checked out, I will be looking for the safest method possible and would follow a natural solution rather than sugery and chemo.  I appreciate that Catherine includes a list of her sources in this article.
